SOPHIE JARVIS is a Swiss-Canadian writer and director whose feature debut UNTIL BRANCHES BEND (TIFF ‘22, SXSW ‘23, Locarno ‘23, PÖFF ‘22, Beijing ‘23) earned her a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2023. It won the “Prix de Soleure” at the 2023 Solothurner Filmtage, and the Netflix “Breakthrough Award” at the 2024 Athena Film Festival. Her short films have screened at TIFF, Clermont Ferrand, and Palm Springs. She is a Berlinale Talents alumni, and in 2024 was a Fellow in the Oxbelly Screenwriters Lab and the TIFF Writers’ Studio (with support from the CHANEL Women Writers Network). She is currently in post-production on the series THE OTHER GIRL (RTS, France TV, Radio-Canada). See her commercial work at Boldly Creative.
